Counselling &
Psychotherapy

There are times when we may struggle to cope or sense our life is stuck and feel powerless to change it.

Taking the first steps towards finding the support and help you need is a courageous and important act, so please know that whatever issues bring you here, you will be heard.

Counselling can help you to explore your inner world, make significant changes to your life and find your true self…

“Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.”

Sigmund Freud

About Me

My name is Federica. I offer a safe and confidential  environment where, by way of open, non-judgemental exploration, one’s trueself can be found. I believe that it is by working together and developing a trusting relationship that change becomes possible.

Being heard can help make sense of, and bring meaning to, the thoughts and feelings you may be experiencing as troubling or confusing. The process of therapy can reduce distress, whilst increasing self-awareness, thereby creating potential for lasting change in your life.

Languages spoken: English, Italian & French

The way I work is based on a Psychodynamic approach to Psychotherapy which explores how our past and early experiences have shaped our understanding of the world, our relationships, and ourselves. It addresses the specific symptoms and difficulties that bring people into therapy whilst also encouraging increased self-awareness and understanding of their origins.

This can help gain control over unconscious, unhelpful patterns of behaviour in our present and live a fuller, truer life.

Therapy

I offer once weekly 50 minute sessions in my own therapy room in Basingstoke town centre to individuals aged 18 and over.

The work is open ended which means the ending of our work will be discussed together as therapy progresses. I am currently able to provide both face to face and online sessions depending on your preference and circumstances.

A free online 30 mins initial consultation is available, so that we can meet and think about what would best suit your needs.

I have experience working with a wide range of emotional and
psychological difficulties, with particular interest in:

  • childhood trauma, abuse and neglect
  • shame, guilt and self-criticism
  • identity, personal growth and sense of self
  • relationship and attachment difficulties
  • anxiety, depression and emotional distress
  • life transitions, loss and grief

My fees per session are £60, payable by BACs or contactless.

Couple Counselling

Relationships can be a source of great connection, security and fulfilment, but they can also become places where we feel hurt, misunderstood or stuck.

Couple counselling offers a space for both partners to explore the difficulties they are experiencing together. It provides an opportunity to slow down patterns of conflict or distance and begin to understand what may be happening beneath the
surface.

In our work together, we may explore:

  • recurring patterns of communication and conflict
  • difficulties with trust, intimacy or feeling emotionally connected
  • how past experiences and early relationships may influence the way we relate to each other
  • the different needs, fears and hopes each partner brings into the relationship

My approach is psychodynamic and relational, meaning that we will look not only at what is happening between you now, but also at the deeper emotional experiences that may be shaping your relationship.

Couple counselling is about creating a safe space where both partners can feel heard, understood and able to develop a deeper awareness of themselves and each other.

My fee per session is £70, payable by BACs or contactless.

Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists, providing a thoughtful and supportive space to reflect on clinical work, professional development and the challenges of therapeutic practice.

My approach to supervision is relational and integrative, drawing on psychodynamic thinking and theoretical frameworks such as the Seven-Eyed Model. I believe supervision to be a collaborative process where we can explore not only client material, but also the therapeutic relationship, the practitioner’s responses and the wider context in which the work takes place.

Supervision can provide space to:

  • reflect on clinical work and deepen understanding of clients
  • develop confidence and creativity as a practitioner
  • consider ethical, professional and practical aspects of the work
  • support ongoing growth and self-awareness as a therapist

I aim to offer a safe, curious and containing supervisory relationship where practitioners can bring uncertainty as well as strengths, and where reflection becomes a foundation for effective and sustainable practice.

My fee per session is £60, payable by BACs or contactless.
